Battling Ropes - Exercise Guide

Step 1

You need a heavy rope (30-40 feet long) anchored at its center for this exercise.
Take an end of the rope in each hand and stand straight.

Step 2

Walk backwards until both sides of the rope are parallel with each other.

Step 3

Extend your arms on both sides while holding the ends of the rope. This is your starting position.

Step 4

Quickly raise one arm until it’s at shoulder level.

Step 5

Quickly drop your raised arm. As you do this, quickly raise the other one.

Step 6

Continue alternating your left and right arms as quick as you can. You should be creating alternating waves on the ropes as you do this.
