Main Muscle Worked: Calves
Place your lower back and hips against the padded lever of the donkey calf raise machine. Make sure that only your tailbone area should be touching the pad.
Hold the handles on your sides.
Move your feet a little bit backward so that the balls of your feet and heels extend off. Your toes can be positioned forward, inward, or outward depending on the area of the calves you want to develop. Keep your knees straight all throughout this exercise without locking them. This is your starting position.
Extend your ankles upward and flex your calves as much as you can to raise your heels. Exhale as you do this movement.
Pause for a moment then slowly lower down your heels until you’re back to your starting position. Inhale as you do this movement.
Repeat until the recommended amount of repetitions is achieved.
