Overhead Lat - Exercise Guide

Step 1

Sit on the floor with your back straight. Fully extend one arm upward, then bend your elbow as if trying to reach and touch your back. Have a partner standing behind you to hold your tricep and wrist.

Step 2

Move one arm up and bend your elbow to be able to touch your back through your hand.

Step 3

Try to pull your arm to your side while your partner resists your movement. This should last for 10 to 20 seconds.

Step 4

Relax the arm afterwards. Your partner will further stretch your lats by pushing your arm downwards.

Step 5

Hold the stretch for 10 to 20 seconds then do it on the other side.
