Push Press – Behind the Neck - Exercise Guide

Step 1

Place a barbell on a rack.

Step 2

Stand in front of it and grab the handle with an overhand grip.

Step 3

Lift it and place the barbell behind your shoulders. This is your starting position.

Step 4

Slowly bend your knees. Go down only slightly and reverse direction as forcefully as possible.

Step 5

Immediately stand up straight as if you’re jumping. Lift the barbell up by extending your arms overhead as you do this. Use the momentum from the jumping motion to easily lift the barbell overhead.

Step 6

Lower the barbell down until you’re back to your starting position.
