in Calves Exercise
Main Muscle Worked: Calves
Place a raised platform under the barbell of the Smith machine.
Adjust the height of the barbell according to your height. You’ll use the barbell for keeping your balance for this exercise.
Step on the platform with only your heels on it while the balls of your feet are extending off it. Your feet should be shoulder-width away from each other.
Have the back of your shoulders touch the handle. Hold the handle with both hands on the sides.
Push the barbell up by extending your hips and knees. Your knees should be slightly bent and not locked. Keep your knees stationary all throughout this exercise. This is your starting position.
Raise the balls of your feet as high as you can and flex your calves. Exhale as you do this.
Pause for a moment then slowly lower down your toes until you’re back to your starting position.
Repeat until the recommended amount of repetitions is achieved.
