Standing Cable Wood Chop - Exercise Guide

Step 1

Adjust a cable pulley machine to the highest position. Change the handle to a standard one.

Step 2

Stand sideways with your feet shoulder width away from each other in front of the machine.

Step 3

Step away from the machine with your hand holding the handle and arm extended upward. Continue to step away until there’s enough tension on the cable.

Step 4

Extend your arms and grab the handle with both hands. This is your starting position.

Step 5

Pull the handle down and across your body to your front knee as you rotate your torso. Continue until your arms are fully extended and as far as you can. Keep your back straight as you do this.

Step 6

Pause for a moment then slowly let the handle go up until you’re back to your starting position.
